Head Chef Compensation and Procurement Continues

There continues to be intense community engagement surrounding the Head Chef and subsequent compensation package on the Sushi Forum, the weekly community call, and the Sushi Discord. Tangle has indicated this week’s community call is open to anyone wishing to address the community with an interest in the Head Chef role. On the call, the contract length of the Head Chef was also discussed with some showing interest in a one-year term after which the Chef can renegotiate their compensation based on demonstrated performance. Only time will tell if there are any parties other than Jon Howard that are interested in taking charge.

Sushi Meiji Restoration

The Sushi Meiji Restoration proposal has generated much community interest. The temp-check has garnered 88% in favor. The proposal wishes to address the tokenomics of Sushi as well as the governance model. Currently, Sushi is governed by those with SUSHIPOWAH, mostly from xSushi and SUSHI-ETH liquidity positions. Meiji would see a creation of a DAO specific governance (Meiji-DAO), and oSushi used for directing emissions to liquidity providers. Two new channels have been added to the Sushi Discord for the community to discuss the proposed model and to learn more. You can find the channels under the Sushi Meiji tab. The #meiji-dao channel is for discussion related to governance, and the #osushi is for discussion related to the proposed oSushi token and how it would function.

Wish respect to when a Snapshot vote will occur for the proposal, ControlCplusControlV has stated that they wish to wait until after the Head Chef and compensation votes have been resolved. This will give more time to flesh out the finer details, and give the community time to pay attention to the very important decisions related to Sushi’s leadership.
