Weekly Round-up September (Week 2)

Head Chef Candidate News

This week in Sushi sees a continued move toward finding a Head Chef. The candidates have been narrowed down to five individuals: Kenneth Hurley (Discord/Forum: SuperGenius), Jared Grey (Discord: Jared Grey, Forum: jaredgrey), Jared Cohen (Discord: jared, Forum: kagan), Paul Walton (Discord/Forum: Wally1), and Andy Forman (Discord: Andy 4Pool, Forum: Andrew). So far, the narrowing of candidates has been of their own accord. The five remaining candidates have answered the team and community questions (Wally's are still pending) and will have the opportunity to meet with the Sushi Team.

Expect to see more engagement with the candidates on Sushi’s Discord, Forum, and community calls.

SAKE’s DoctorShinpaku dropped in for the community call to provide updates on SAKE’s latest developments. He says SAKE’s Sake production has been completed and it is now being stored at optimal temperatures to minimize oxidation. The production of the SAKE boxes, which each bottle will be delivered in, is still in progress. He expects the product will be complete and ready for distribution to holders, wanting to burn their SAKE tokens, by the end of 2022 or possibly January 2023 at the latest. Interestingly, DoctorShinpaku says 5600 extra bottles had to be made to have the Japanese brewer take on SAKE’s 888 bottle project. What will become of these extra bottles? Perhaps SAKE holders will be able to purchase these to sample the finished product without burning their NFT? We can only speculate!

SAKΞ is the first of its kind: a tokenized sake bridging tradition and technology with quality design.

Head Chef Snapshot Signals

The Head Chef signal votes on Snapshot have closed. The votes indicate that the Sushi community is in favor of a 6-month severance, a 24-month contract length, a 12-month initial cliff, 750k Sushi for roadmap and price targets, keeping the initial Sushi price targets, and a base salary of $500k for the Head Chef.

The Snapshots can be found here.

Along with these signal votes, a new Snapshot is live to implement the timeline that the rest of the Head Chef search will follow. Go and vote, if you haven’t already! The Snapshot will be live until Sept 19th at 05:00.

Head Chef Final Selection Itinerary

Jiro has posted the expected timeline for the Head Chef search to the forum. As per the forum post:

  • 12th of September: Snapshot Proposal is live to finalize this schedule and commence onto the Finale of Sushi Head Chef Search.
  • Weeks of September 12th & September 19th: candidates will have the opportunity to meet directly with the Sushi Team & additional community members to pitch their candidacy. Additionally, continued campaigning and candidate discussions will take place in the Sushi discord.
  • 22nd of September: All 5 finalists get a chance to debate and defend their answers to team & community questions during the #97th Sushi Forum Call
  • 26th of September: Final Implementation Snapshot - final vote on 1 out of 5 for becoming Head Chef of Sushi

For those who still have questions to pose to the five remaining candidates, now is the time to address them in the Discord #head-chef-talk channel, or on the Sushi Forum. As per the above timeline, September 22nd’s community call will provide the community with a chance to field any final questions to the candidates. There are less than two weeks remaining before the final vote for a new Head Chef. Don’t forget to make the most of this opportunity to form your questions and reach out to the candidates.
